Because the war is always changing, their needs have changed over the past few months. For example, they need help in rural areas where troop movements make it hard to get to them and in war-torn cities where broken supply lines make it hard to get to things they need. The fact that Russian bombs keep destroying homes is also a big problem that needs to be fixed. The charity helps with local efforts to make sure that Ukrainians who have been forced to leave their homes can get basic shelter immediately and a more stable place to live as soon as possible. Alexander Rekeda is in charge of the nonprofit's day-to-day work to meet people's wants as well as possible. The charity helps groups in the country that help orphans, families torn apart by the war, and civilians who have been hurt and need medical and mental care. First, the most important needs, like rehabilitation and basic needs, are met. Then, schooling and housing are taken care of as a second level of care. Alexander started Unity for Freedom and ran it as its CEO. He has worked in the nonprofit sector for a long time, mostly with foreign aid and disaster relief. Rekeda was born in Slovakia. During his childhood, he saw the fall of communism and the wars that followed. Because of this, he decided to work in foreign aid to help people in need no matter where they were. Through Unity for Freedom, Rekeda tries to get important goods and services to people who need them the most, no matter where they live or what party they support. Alexander helped start Unity for Freedom, a nonprofit group that helps Ukrainians who have been moved rebuild their lives. When the fighting started in Ukraine, Alexander and his team set up a network of neighborhood projects to help meet the people's needs. They are dedicated to rebuilding Ukraine's cities, towns, and homes.
